Steven Brayet co-founded Mechanical Group and leads the company as CEO. Known for his hands-on approach, Steven blends strategic thinking with a deep respect for the trades. He has helped expand Mechanical Group into a multi-state HVAC-R platform by prioritizing field operations, growing strong service teams, and leading thoughtful acquisitions that align with the company’s technician-led values. His focus is on sustainable growth, long-term partnerships, and keeping boots-on-the-ground expertise at the core of everything.
Matt Shaw is a third-generation HVAC professional and co-founder of Mechanical Group. After leading S&R Air Conditioning in Southern California and launching Climate Specialists in Austin, TX, Matt has earned a reputation as a hands-on technical leader with a deep, generational understanding of the trade. A true family man and trusted operator, Matt is known for his reliability, curiosity, and passion for raising the bar. He’s committed to building teams that prioritize first-day fix rates, craftsmanship, and service excellence - because for Matt, this work is more than a job - it’s a lifelong calling.
